This course is ideal for all lovers of early music, folk and classical styles and is the perfect chance for those with an interest in the area to try out a broad range of repertoire in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. HISS is open to all abilities, providing beginners with a team of experienced tutors and seasoned amateur players to help guide the way and for the more experienced musicians, students and professionals, our excellent team of tutors provide a stimulating environment in which to explore the repertoire in depth.
HISS offers an intensive practical experience over five days for singers and players of period and modern instruments. Classes and workshops for singers, plucked and bowed strings (including viols, baroque and modern strings), wind and keyboard players, fall into three categories: a series of progressive classes exploring repertoire and technique throughout the week; classes exploring particular aspects of technique, repertoire, or enabling and supporting mixed and smaller ensembles; optional sessions on specific repertoire or genres.
