Accomodation

The price of the course includes:

  • an ensuite single room for four nights (Monday to Thursday)

  • breakfast and evening meal

  • teas, coffee and biscuits mid-morning and mid-afternoon throughout the course

(If you would like to extend your stay, you can book extra nights at Bishop Burton College.)

Wi-fi is available throughout the accommodation, and you will get a wi-fi code at registration.

Free on-site car parking next to the residence blocks is available for all participants.

Rooms

The rooms available are all single with an ensuite bathroom facility. There are a limited number of disabled rooms on the ground floors.

Towels and some complimentary toiletries are included.

Shared kitchen facilities in the accommodation blocks for each group of six to eight rooms include a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave, with tea and coffee available too.

Meals

Breakfasts, evening meals, and refreshments at breaks are all included in your course fee.

All meals are provided on campus in the Meadows Dining Hall, a ground-floor building between the accommodation blocks and the main teaching building.

Meals are served cafeteria-style, except for the Musical Banquet on Thursday evening, which is a three-course meal with table service (and musical entertainment).

Lunch is not included in the fees, but light meals and snacks are available at modest cost in the Meadows, and there are cooking facilities in the shared kitchen areas in the accommodation blocks.

The bar is next to the dining hall, and has ample space for the tunes sessions or informal singing in the evenings.

Accessibility

We are committed to making HISS as accessible as possible. The site is fully accessible. The rooms used for the course, dining hall, bar, and the accommodation are all within a short walk of each other. The whole site is non-smoking. The teaching rooms are in the main building, grouped together and they are accessible by lifts, as well as stairs and all have natural light.
