Student bursaries
A limited number of student bursaries are available, generously funded by NEEMF (North East Early Music Forum).
These cover the full cost of tuition and accommodation – all you will need to pay are your transport costs (and we will help with lifts if we can).
To apply, you must be in full-time education on an appropriate music course. The course offers an excellent opportunity for those interested in arts management and administration, as well as valuable musical experience in folk, medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music.
Applications will be considered in order of receipt, but no decisions will be made until after the deadline, which is Sunday 12th July. This allows us to consider where the greatest need for singers and players is, and how much funding can be made available. We will let you know our decision by Friday 17th July so you can plan ahead.
Our bursary students are able to participate fully in the course, but are also expected to assist the director and administrators with the general running of the course. Duties may include the setting up of spaces for classes and events, artist liaison, stage management and clerical assistance. We ask you to arrive by midday on the first day to help with the initial course setup and allow time for a pre-course briefing.
After the course, you’ll be asked to write a review of your experience which may be published, in part or in full, on our website, for future students to hear about what you get up to during the course. Read previous reviews from bursary students.
