Venue

Make music in beautiful surroundings. In 2026, HISS 2026 returns for its ninth year at Bishop Burton College, near Beverley – one of UK's leading agricultural training centres, set in idyllic rural surroundings.

The college is set in 360 hectares of wonderful landscaped gardens, including a Victorian walled garden, a tree-lined walk, a large glasshouse and extensive grounds, walks and woods. At any point in the course, you can walk out across fields and among trees – but the classrooms are easily accessible in a compact block.

Before or after the course, you could explore Beverley, where Beverley Minster, a Gothic masterpiece bigger than most cathedrals, has the largest collection of medieval musical carvings in the world, showing more than 70 musicians with at least 20 different instruments. (Book extra nights direct with the college.)
